The EMP-21 was the world’s first universal device programmer to use
both USB and Parallel Port interfaces. With a wide range of devices
supported (EEPROM, EPROM, FLASH, PLD, CPLD, 8051, Microchip PIC,
Atmel AVR, Serial EPROM, JTAG) and Windows based EMPWin software the
EMP-21 is a versatile and easy to use programmer. The EMP-21 offers
the “automated one touch” system. This allows you to blank check,
erase, program, verify or any combination of these functions with
the ease of just pushing a button. The EMP-21 also supports
in-system-programming, via an adapter, on a number of devices.The
inexpensive cost of the EMP-21 makes it a great choice for variety
of budgets.

PORTABILITY
The EMP-21 is extremely portable, you can pack it up and take it
with you anytime you wish. At only 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1 1/4", with a
2" high power transformer, the EMP-21 fits into a briefcase or
toolbox with ease. The programmer, parallel and usb cable,
transformer, and Family Modules, together weigh in at less than five
pounds!

STABILITY

The EMP-21 carries a 1 year warranty on all parts and labor, and a
30 day money-back guarantee (restocking fee may apply).

The EMP-21 is static-protected at the ZIF Socket, Family Module
socket, parallel and usb port, and power connector. The protection
on the parallel port also protects the EMP-21 from the 12 volts of
a serial port.

It's case is made of tough .125" thick ABS plastic.

There is almost nothing to wear out on the EMP-21; no fan, not
even a power switch.

FAMILY MODULES
The purpose of a Family Module is to allow the use of a few high
quality pin drivers. Using a lower quality pin driver on each pin on
the ZIF socket may result in reliability issues. The use of Family
Modules translates to cleaner, more manageable waveforms, and higher
reliability all at a much lower price. For a list of Family Module
